The spring processions to honor the churches and the Holy Easter, are a one-of-a-kind experience. Choirs and devottes, as well as sacred heirlooms against the backdrop of the abloom landscape, compose a celestial parade, that purifies the human soul.
In the summer, each settlement has its own fair, accompanied by violin, quitar and accordion.Circle dances elevate high spirits and the joy of life.The Monastery of Pantokrator, built on the mountain top in 1347, with labour of the people from the twenty three villages of the area, was totally ruined in the 16th century. The present church was built at the same place, in the late 17th century. Uphill, in the bosom of Pantokrator Mt., the Old Perithia.
An excellent specimen of architecture and measure, the village with the stone mansions, numerous churches and mystic alleys, retains its charm and the aura of the Venetian era instact.
